BEST FAMILY RESORT
As Sea World opens its new penguin adventure, the Sea World Resort and
Water Park has taken out the gong for Best Family Resort in the 4.5 star
category in the Holidays With Kids Magazine 2011 Awards.
Just shy of 500,000 votes were received from reader surveys as well as
an online survey for the awards.
Resort general manager Ernst Pfister said it won as a result of its
family water attractions including the water park and water play aqua
playground, as well as the newly renovated kids' club.
Sea World Resort is the only hotel in Australia where guests receive an
exclusive dolphin presentation, free when they stay two nights or more.
NOW ARRIVING AT SEX
The public relations people at Student Flights obviously have too much
time on their hands. A recent release showed the results of their scouring
the world to find a selection of quirky airport names and codes.
They came up with a Batman Airport in Turkey, a Robin (Robin Hood
Airport) in England, Mafia Airport in Tanzania, Moron airports in both
Mongolia and Argentina and a Beer Airport in the USA.
When it comes to three-letter airport codes they found travellers could
fly to FLY (Finley, NSW), take off from SEA (Seattle-Tacoma, USA) and
land at AIR (Aripuna, Brazil). There's a POO (Pocos De Caldas Airport,
Brazil), SIN (Singapore), FAT (Fresno Yosemite), DUD (Dunedin), LAP (La
Paz, Mexico), HAM (Hamburg) and MAD (Madrid). You can't escape
TAX (Taliabu, Indonesia), you can fly to the SUN (Sun Valley, Idaho) and
there's CAT (Cat Island, Bahamas), DOG (Dongala Airport, Sudan) and
PIG (Pitinga, Brazil). For romantics there's LUV (Langgur, Indonesia), and
flights are always full for SEX (Sembach, Germany), especially after YES
(Yasouj, Iran). After that you might need a NAP (Capodichino, Italy) or
BED (Hanscom Field, USA). If thirsty try RUM (Rumjatar, Nepal) or ALE
(Alpine, USA). When the money runs out there's ATM (Altamira, Brazil),
FOC (Fuzhou, China), ANZ (Angus Downs, Australia), CBA (Corner Bay,
USA) or NAB (Albany, Nas, USA).
If it's all too confusing try FAQ (Freida River, PNG) but avoid Sioux
Gateway Airport, Idaho. It SUX.
COLD AND WET: Sea World's new Penguin Adventure, left, and
Ningaloo Reef, right.
